Join our community of Empowered Black Girl mentees and obtain skills to become the high-achieving leader you were born to be. Empowered Black Girl is a carefully curated program of workshops, panel discussions, mentorship sessions, and community activities, the conference sought to inspire the next generation of Black leaders and change-makers. You will have the opportunity to interact, develop transferable skills and build relationships with other girls that look like you.
The Empowered Black Girl Experience
Panel Discussions
The panel discussions will comprise of leading women from various industries and all walks of life sharing their unique stories of success. The objective is to empower the girls to dream big, pursue their passions and unlock their full potential.
Workshops
The program will host a series of leadership workshops including but not limited to: Strategic Thinking and Visionary Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, Habits of Highly Effective Leaders, Communicating with Confidence, Goal Setting, Time & Energy Management and Executive Presence.
Health & Wellness
The program’s itinerary will also include a range of health and wellness sessions delivered by health professionals. The sessions will help promote healthy and active lifestyles by providing information on physical and mental health issues. Participants will discuss nutrition, exercise, mindfulness, sexual reproductive health and HIV/AIDs.
Group Projects
Participants will work together in groups of five* to create a media campaign. Participants will be asked to select an issue affecting Black girls to help raise awareness and brainstorm a solution. Mentors that specialize in print media, broadcast news or online journalism will lead each group, helping to craft the girls’ messages.
Networking
Participants will bond with their peers and build mentor-mentee relationships with prospective panelists and workshop facilitators. It will give the girls an opportunity to build a strong and supportive network of Black women with aligning objectives.
